On the 19th of December, our year partook in our annual Saint Vincent de Paul Hamper packing. This involved packing hundreds of hampers with food supplies for families in need in our local area.
All TY students went down to the sports hall in the morning and we were divided into our different groups. Each group was in charge of packing 20 or so boxes. Supplies were scattered around the sports hall and we had to collect 1-2 of each item for the hampers.
We packed the hampers with biscuits, sweets, tinned foods, bread, meats, tea, etc… We were packing the hampers for about an hour and then that was it, over 200 hampers were packed and we all left for some hot chocolate and a cookie.
Overall it was a good morning and I really enjoyed it.
