Public Speaking was a chance for me to learn how to both write and deliver a speech using different techniques.
In class, for the few that I was present for, we watched and discussed different speeches that covered many different topics of a varying controversy.
After we had implored many speeches, me moved on to prepare for our exam. This involved writing a 3-4 minute speech which we would deliver to an examiner with the aid of a powerpoint presentation.
After a couple of weeks of deliberation, I settled on the topic of Procrastination for my speech. I wrote my speech and made my powerpoint over the course of a week, and then on the 13th of March, I delivered my speech. I went down to the boardroom 20 minutes before I was due to speak, and then the nerves started kicking in. In the end the speech went very well, I received an excellence grade of 91%, and a review, which in my eyes, was very fair.
Overall the module was enjoyable and I learned a lot.
